Installing the app

Strumhold runs in any modern browser at strumhold.com, and it also installs as an app: it gets its own icon, opens full-screen without browser chrome, and practice keeps working with no connection at all. If you got Strumhold from Google Play, it’s already installed and there is nothing more to set up.

On Android

Two ways, same app:

On iPhone and iPad

Safari has no install button, so it takes a few taps:

  1. Open strumhold.com in Safari and tap the ••• menu at the right of the address bar, then tap Share.
  2. Scroll down and choose Add to Home Screen.
  3. Leave Open as Web App on, then tap Add.
  4. Open Strumhold from your home screen.

Installing on iPhone matters more than elsewhere: Safari can clear a website’s stored data after a stretch of unuse, but it never clears an installed app’s. Your practice history is safer installed.

On a computer

In Chrome or Edge, open Settings in the app and look for Install app under App; the browser confirms and adds Strumhold as its own window with its own icon. If the entry isn’t there, the app is either already installed or that browser doesn’t support installing. Practicing in the browser tab works the same.

Already installed?

If Strumhold opens full-screen from its own icon, you’re done. The install entries in Settings hide themselves once the app runs installed.
