Practicing is free, forever. Three things you can pay for: sync, so your practice follows you between devices; Diagnosis, which tells you which chord changes are costing you and why; and jamming over a band. Diagnosis and jamming both come with Pro.

Your score for a chord pair is the average of a change you have and one you don't. Diagnosis is what tells them apart.

  • Everything in Sync
  • Both directions scored on their own: C → G is a different move for your hand than G → C, and most players have one and not the other
  • The one change costing you the most, picked by how many changes you actually drop rather than by worst percentage
  • Why it misses: landing late, jumping the beat, a strum that goes missing, or the wrong shape. Each of those has a different fix.
  • When the change you were missing comes good, it says so and moves on to the next one
  • A drill on that pair, aimed at the change you're missing, one button away
  • Jam over a band, and the chart follows the chords: it re-anchors the shape on every change, and it names the note that makes the new sound
  • Every chord pair, in every key whose shapes and chords you've unlocked. How a jam works

Subscribe in the app

The fine points, plainly

  • Cancel anytime. Cancellation is self-service: Manage subscription in the app takes you to the Stripe billing portal. It takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep sync until then. See refunds & cancellation.
  • Your practice is never held hostage. If your subscription ends, every drill and all your history stay right on your device. You lose the syncing, and on Pro the Diagnosis and the other jams. You keep the free jam in C, the same one anybody gets without paying. The practice itself stays.
  • Diagnosis needs history before it will say anything. It wants a good stack of tries on the same change before it will name one, so it stays quiet on a new account and says less rather than guessing when there isn't enough to be sure. If you have just started, Sync is the tier that earns its keep today.
  • Your practice lives on your device, so keep a copy somewhere else. Everything you do is stored in your browser, and a browser is allowed to clear that storage when it needs the space. If the device is lost, stolen, broken or wiped, the practice on it goes too. Settings → Export my data writes your whole history to one file. Do that now and then, and keep the file somewhere that isn't the same device. Sync does it for you, every time you drill.
  • Already subscribed? Signing in on a new device restores sync. There is no second charge.
  • Tax is included. $2.99, $19.99, $8.99 and $59.99 are what you pay. Any sales tax or VAT is already inside those numbers, not added at the end. You're charged in US dollars, and checkout may show or convert the price in your local currency.
  • Stripe is the seller. You buy through Stripe's Link checkout, and Stripe is the merchant of record: it takes the payment and sends the receipt. The charge reads LINK.COM* STRUMHOLD on your statement. Oxware runs Strumhold itself. See the terms.
