Terms of Service
Effective August 7, 2026
Strumhold is a guitar practice app operated by Oxware, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Oxware", "we"). By using Strumhold, either the app at strumhold.app or this site, you agree to these terms.
What Strumhold is
Strumhold drills guitar chord changes and scales: it plays a beat, listens to your guitar through your device's audio input, and scores what you play. The practice features are free and run in your browser, on your device, with no account. There are two optional paid subscriptions: "Sync" backs up your practice history and keeps it in sync across your devices, and "Pro" includes Sync and adds "Diagnosis", which reads your practice history and tells you which chord changes are costing you the most.
Your account
You only need an account for a subscription. You sign in with Google; keep access to that Google account secure, since anyone who can use it can use your Strumhold account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
Subscriptions and billing
Stripe sells the subscriptions, not us. You buy through Stripe's Link checkout, and Stripe is the merchant of record: it takes your payment, handles any sales tax or VAT, and sends you the receipt. Oxware runs the Strumhold service, and these terms cover your use of it. Stripe's own checkout page splits it the same way: it tells you the subscription is “sold through Link” and “provided by OXWARE LLC in accordance with their terms”. Those terms are this page.
- Sync costs $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year. Pro costs $8.99 per month or $59.99 per year. You are charged in US dollars, and checkout may show or convert the price in your local currency. Any sales tax or VAT is already inside that price; nothing is added on top at the end.
- Because Stripe collects the payment, the charge appears on your statement as LINK.COM* STRUMHOLD. We never see or store your card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime, self-service, via Manage subscription in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep what you subscribed to until then. Refunds are Stripe's to issue, since Stripe is the seller, but write to us first and we'll take it up. See the refunds & cancellation policy, which is part of these terms.
Your practice data
Your practice history is yours. It lives on your device; if you subscribe, a copy is stored on our servers so your other devices can pull it. We claim no ownership of it, and if your subscription ends you keep everything already on your device. See the privacy policy for the details.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the service: no attempting to break, overload, or probe it, no reselling it, and no using it in a way that breaks the law. We may suspend accounts that do.
Availability and changes
Strumhold is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep it reliable, but we don't promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. The free practice features run on your device and keep working offline regardless of our servers.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oxware's total liability for any claim arising out of Strumhold is limited to the amounts paid for your subscription in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Strumhold after that means you accept the change.
