Privacy Policy
Effective July 16, 2026
The short version: your practice stays on your device. Strumhold has no ads, no third-party analytics, and we never sell data. The only personal data we hold is what a paid Sync account needs, and this page lists all of it.
What stays on your device
Everything the free app does happens locally: your practice history, your drill recordings, and your settings are stored in your browser on your device. If you never create an account, we hold nothing about you.
Your microphone
Strumhold asks for microphone access to score your strums. The audio is processed on your device, as you play, and is never uploaded. Recordings you make of drills are stored on that device only.
If you create an account
Accounts exist only for the paid Sync feature, and you sign in with Google. From Google we receive and store your email address and whether Google has verified it. We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in — no tracking cookies.
If you subscribe
Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, not to us. We store your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference so the app knows Sync is active.
What Sync stores on our servers
Sync's whole job is to back up your practice history and copy it between your devices, so while you're subscribed we store that history (your drills and practice events — not audio) on our servers, hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. If your subscription ends, we keep that backup for 12 months — so you can pick sync back up without losing anything — and then delete it. Your local copy is unaffected.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no data sold or shared for advertising.
- No third-party analytics or tracking scripts — on the app or on this site.
- No audio ever leaves your device.
Your choices
You can export your practice history from the app at any time, and cancel Sync self-service via Manage subscription. To delete your account and its server-side data, email [email protected] from the address you signed in with.
